9 Last Call: Boiling Point

Boiling Point

The words stew
bubble and boil
like an unwatched
pot of water
froathing and expanding
'til they spill
over the edge
sizzling and sputtering
from lips unfiltered
burning and searing
those on the other end
causing unintentional
pain and scars
marring much more
than the surface

An Aside:  up until I got to the line "from lips..." I had a completely different thought on were this was going.  But the line just crept in throwing me in a new direction...so I went with it.

This is my offerings for this week's dVerse Poets Pub OpenLinkNight. If you get a chance, check out all of the talented poets who have stepped up into the spotlight.

  4. Great images... if you don't want the words to get out of control, turn off the fire. I especially enjoyed hearing you read it. You make such a powerful point, one that we all should take to heart.

  6. really good. I love how sometimes the ideas we have for our poetry often changes as we are writing them, and glad you allowed it the freedom to move in the way it wanted to, which is something I try to do, but it can be difficult at times, especially if a good deal of prep work was done before sitting down to write. Really liked the reading as well. Thanks

  7. Ouch... Words hurt and you once said you can't take them back.

  8. So true. A lesson that should be given to children before they can stand..and repeated often. How often the reverse is true. They received the scalding scold only to ingrain the lesson and repeat it for a lifetime! Well said.
