0 impenetrable heart

love
snuck up
from behind
spoke sweet nothings
hoping I might sway
love knew not my power
strong, steady, unmovable
whispers of promises mean nil
for fear immobilizes my heart
love will need to find another way in

this etheree finds me on day 19 with inspiration from Poetic Asides' "Two for Tuesday" prompt [write a love poem or write an anti-love poem].  i had another poem tickling my thoughts, but for some reason i felt the need to toy once again with an etheree.  it seems a simple form (10 lines...increasing in syllable count from 1 to 10 with each line), but anytime syllable count is involved i find myself working and reworking and altering line placement and/or word choice.

Please

my dear

do not go

stay here with me

hold me in your arms

infuse me with your warmth

scare away the chill of night

enfold me with your tender love

ward off the feelings of loneliness

tonight I need to feel you beside me

0 Hopelessness

Blank
faces
haunt my mind
behind closed eyes
they appear to me
as I am drawn to them
taunted by their facelessness
I feel the fear build deep within
the knowledge that they are all I have
tears at my hope for finding someone real

my newest challenge to myself was the creation of an etheree. I'm not really fond of working with syllables, but none the less... I do like the way it grows...though short multi-syllable words take a bit away from the affect.
